VENDOR EHS ASSESSMENT

As manufacturers outsourced operations across the globe, they began to rely on low-cost suppliers providing high-volume production with cheap labour, namely in South Asia, Southeast Asia and China.

While EHS compliance requirements & best practices in the western world grew increasingly stringent, developing economies supporting those manufacturers had comparatively lax (lenient/relaxed).

Initially there was no much attention to abhorrent labour conditions, frequent work-related deaths, and lax environmental standards among supply chains. But now media & social media is covering all such event & publicly disclose responsible parties.

Thus, organizations have been increasingly asked to improve EHS performance across their supply chain.
